Every creative person knows the problem I’m adressing here: You’re sitting in front of your new university project, another job task or any other creative project and there is just…nothing. You start to scribble around and search in every part of your brain for ideas to start, but you just haven’t got any. Luckily, this happens to everyone from time to time which is why I have collected my favourite inspiration pages for you to get your ideas flowing again.
Let me start with some pages you can quickly type in the google searching bar.
A page I haven’t discovered that long, but is already my first go-to page is dribbble. Its an amazing page for every kind of design. No matter what you are searching for, you always find high quality content from internationally known designers. You also got the possibility to create your own account, save your favourites for later or share your own work. Very similar to this is pinterest, a page where you can find inspiration for every area of life. Next to cooking receips and DIY- tutorials you’ll find many drawing, graphics and other designs you can pin to your own collections for later.
A website I always use for color schemes – picking colors is the hardest in my opinion- is Color Hunt. It’s free, easy and allows you to find the perfect colour matchings for any kind of design.
Another social network we all use daily is great for inspiration of all kinds: instagram.
Therefore I’ve got a list of my favourite design-related pages for you.
If you’re searching for design in general or need important tipps, for example „Which questions to ask your logo design client“ or „Designers to subscribe on youtube“ I can recommend
- usepitchproof
- adobestocks and of course
- dribbble again
If you are into illustration like me, go check out
- burnttoastcreative for really cute and soft looking work
- Julian burford for many varied illustration styles
- feitosainmotion for cute little illustrated videos and
- jackrdesign for simple but impressing illustrations
Other sites I follow and go to for specific inspiration are
- ghanipra for app design and amazing gradients
- magazine_layouts – a private site, but totally worth following and
- branding_design which I love for their diverse post that give you a small insight in all the possibilities you have when it comes to design. Its not only helpful when you’re working for a brand or creating one, its also pleasing to scroll through and helps you with colour combinations and layouts.
All in all, instagram is in my opinion the best source for inspiration, because it offers you a seemingly inexhaustible diversity of creative content and the possibility to save your favourite posts and share your own.
Hopefully you can get through your creative blockade by looking at some of these pages. Let me know other sites you use to animate your creativity and now – go check out your favourite page from the list!
